Report:
It was a very very hot day, temperature was going to hit 100. As usual teams
were there on time and so were the umpire's from COCC. Toss won by Anzac's and
decided to field. CLCC started with Shashi and Parimal, and it did started well
for CLCC. As we didn't loss any early wickets, till in the 7th over we lost
Shashi's wicket at score of 49. Bharat joined Parimal couldn't do much and after
few overs lost another wicket and the victim was Bharat, score 2/75 in 13 over.
Ashish Joined Parimal and decided to hold the wickets till the break, at break
the score was 79. After break Parimal decided to go for it and started hitting
some big ones and Ashish gave his wicket away at CLCC were 109 in 19th over.
Well Parimal was set and ready to explode and on the other end Abhi just came
in, but they both knew that we only had 11 overs left. They both played a superb
knock, some huge sixes and power fours, it was very hard to play ground shots
and make the ball go to the boundary. We lost Parimal just short of his century
at his personal score of 92, a very powerful innings. As he played almost 28
overs. On the other end, what a innings by Abhi scored quick 51 with some
excellent shots all over the field. They both took the score to 200, When both
lost there wickets when trying to play some big shots. Chetan finished the 30th
over staying not out and CLCC made a huge total of 202 after losing 6 wickets.
Anzac's started the inning's with the normal openers Satbir and Sudeep, very 2nd
ball Satbir hit a huge six on a very bad ball by Chetan, Well the ball pitch
really short and the batsman had all the time in the world to put it over the
fence. Well Chetan got him out in the very same over on the 4th ball, payback
time. Ashish as normal bowled very well and the runs were very hard to come.
Ashish kept putting pressure and on the other end Chetan getting wickets. They
both Bowl very well. Gopal started his spell, well few wide balls at the
beginning of his very first over, but made it up taking wicket in the same over
and the next. Anzac were 5/33 at one stage. Jonathan and Deepesh played a
brilliant innings. They fought back and took the innings over to 100 mark
without giving any more wickets. Sixth wicket fell at the score of 117 and the
seventh at the score of 142, finally Anzac's ended the innings at the score of
167/8 in 30 overs.
As I said it was a very hot day and the fielders were tired and basically no
energy.
Lions won the game at home, the man of the match was Parimal, who scored 92
which took the total to 202.
Great batting by Parimal, Abhi and Shashi and some nice bowling by Chetan and
Gopal.
